The sad part about when I am a cartoonist in residence is that I can't share what I do with you, as the work is private - and, unless you were there, too - it wouldn't really make much sense to you.

However, the happy flipside is that I love being a cartoonist in residence and capturing the essence of an event in picture form. I spent three days this month as cartoonist in residence at a great event, sent my work off into cyberspace as it was going to another country and then got an email back with the words "I love it"! Music to my ears!!!

I'm going to be meeting two cartoon celebs very soon. Zoom Rockman  - the teenager with his own page in the Beano and Rutu Modan, author of the wonderful graphic novel, The Property. By the way, until I got into cartoons, I had no idea what a graphic novel was. So, in case like me you thought it was something x-rated, let me put you straight. A graphic novel is an entire novel written as a cartoon. They are very addictive, very compelling and a real treat.

Cartoon novels aren't part of my repertoire just yet, however if you have an important life story you'd love captured in cartoon form, I'd be delighted to create a comic strip for you.

Drop me a line and let's get started!

Yours,

Sam xox
